A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"I don’t know where all this “bad service” mentions and bad food mention comes from. I have just visited this branch and I feel they deserves more than 4.1. They feel like a 4.5 star. The noodle was amazing. The soup we tried was the pork soup, the chicken soup and the original signature soup. While the signature soup was not really for me, it was not bad. And the other soup was really good. The portion is extremely generous. Can share between two folks if you’re light eaters. We ordered the pork slice, the beef slice - both the meat were of amazing quality. The mantou while simple is also delicious as desert! It’s definitely a pearl of Setia Alam. The environment was also nice and cooling, and the service was adequate. I only put 5 star everything to drag up their rating a little. They’re definitely a cut above the rest of the restaurants in the area that are rated higher but don’t taste as good"
"The restaurant I visited offers a unique blend of modern Chinese design and culinary tradition. Upon entering, I was struck by the contemporary yet simple elegance of the decor. The tables and chairs feature a modern design, arranged in spacious rows that create an inviting atmosphere. The minimalistic approach to advertising, with just a few notices detailing the restaurant's history in China and explanations about their signature noodles, adds a touch of authenticity to the experience. The highlight of the menu is undoubtedly the noodles, crafted from five distinct types of grains. Each variety boasts its own unique taste and color, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to quality ingredients. Additionally, the restaurant offers an impressive selection of approximately 15 types of soup, ranging from spicy to milder options, allowing guests to customize their meals to their liking. Diners have the freedom to select their preferred meat, vegetables, and other ingredients, creating a personalized culinary experience. Service at the restaurant was commendable, with staff ensuring that there was minimal delay in food preparation, contributing to a smooth dining experience. The prices are reasonable, making it an accessible option for many patrons. Furthermore, the availability of ample parking nearby adds to the convenience of visiting this charming establishment. Overall, this restaurant stands out not only for its delicious offerings but also for its thoughtful ambiance and attentive service, making it a delightful destination for anyone seeking modern Chinese cuisine."
"The stewed beef is really tough and hard to chew... For that kind of price the stewes beef is totally fail! Also, the stewed beef must be labeled spicy in the menu. I only realized it is spicy when it served. I just recovered from diarrhea and need plain soup. Portion of noodle can be more generous if compare with the big bowl.. UPDATE: Came here for few times as family quite like the soup. I tried other soup and not the stewed beef. In fact, I like the other soup combination with other meat. Surprise me and I change the rating from 2 star to 4 star. If they really can cook well the stewed beef probably 5 star."
"Definitely the Pearl of Setia Taipan. Came when Setia Alam right after super heavy rain and super cold outside..the hot soup and noodle was sooooo~ warm. 5 Stars straight! Ordered the original soup based + Fish slice, taste awesome, soup is good, fish is super fresh, and the best of it..The Noodle. Very chewy and the texture just nice. Staff is friendly, clean and comfortable place, price is reasonable. Saw many couples dining here too. I definitely will come back for other items in menu. (Friendly reminder: the temperature of noodle is higher than other ingredients and soup, so be careful for noodle, don't get burn.)"
"Have a nice experience in this noodles shop. The soup n noodles is experience me. I have a signature flavour today. It’s a bit spicy but I like it so much… I will come back to try others soup & topping. The staff are very friendly"
"Note: 1) tak halal 2) there are 2 same name shops in setia alam, but they are slightly different in menu 3) road side parking, pls remember to pay 4) famous for the noodles soup but this outlet also offer some snacks 5) condiments are at the corner near counter, pls help yourself 6) if u order chinese tea, its refillable After trying the outlet at the other side of Setia Alam, we ventured to explore this outlet which surprisingly has different menu offerings. Drinks and snacks are different. The 5 types of noodles is the same and the soup variety also the same. We really enjoy the signature pork bone broth. The fish slices are very fresh and if i heard correctly its Toman fish. Also ordered fried pumpkin snack for sweet dessert lunch crowd pours in and it gets quite busy, but its super efficient as soon as you place order, the food will be served shortly."
"Great food with tasty soup. Ive tried original, lau wei mala and golden soup. Original soup was tasty, almost like the broth for our local fishhead noodle soup. Lau wei mala was like the hotpot mala soup at FeiFan, which was nice. The one lacking was the golden soup as I have tried tastier golden soup in Mahkota Cheras. Here is a bit pickled vege soup - not much ohm. Fried dumpling was so so. Nothing interesting."
"I've tried a few other branches and this one is by far the best. Noodles are firm and soup not diluted. Good consistency also. Keep up the good work!"
